By chance, I came across this video on Youtube. It has 157 views at present, it was made by a 15-year-old using the video function on his digital slr, and in my opinion, it has more emotional resonance than 99% of the shit coming out of Hollywood these days.  In under 90 seconds, this kid precisely communicates what it means to be young and in love in suburbia. Meanwhile, it’s not uncommon for big shot producers to spend north of $200 million on gratuitous novelty and spectacle, which undoubtedly entertains yet has little to say to the human heart. Maybe I’m sentimental, but the best things in cinema (and life) are quiet, simple moments of truth.

Awesome.

Also, anyone want to explain what this 15 year old is doing with a $1,700 dslr?
